This song has been haunting me for a couple of weeks. In fact, all of the songs on the CD have been. So this is probably the first of several stories inspired by Evanescence. Her expression would be unreadable to anyone who did not know the lovely vampire. But her thoughts were swirling around and a huge maw of pain was open inside of her. Her encounter with Nicholas the previous evening had finally brought home the truth to her about his love for the lovely Doctor Lambert. She realized that she had truly lost him. His quest for mortality was now redoubled with the attachment he had formed to his colleague. She knew that he would be trying even more to attain his goal. It frightened her to think of an eternity without Nicholas in it. i'm so tired of being here suppressed by all of my childish fears and if you have to leave i wish that you would just leave because your presence still lingers here and it won't leave me alone these wounds won't seem to heal this pain is just too real there's just too much that time cannot erase Nicholas had come to her at the club, and before he even entered she could feel his need for her blood raging along their link. He walked in and his haunted eyes were tinged with gold. Without a word, she had taken his hand and led him upstairs to her apartment. He had followed her, shaking with the need for her blood. She had taken off her necklace and pulled him close to her, reveling in the passion growing within her and the knowledge that he still sought her out to assuage his own primal needs. Unbuttoning his shirt, she had offered him her throat at the same instant his own fangs pierced her own flesh in the ecstacy of their mutual desires. She allowed herself to be lost in the pleasure of his blood. As the intoxicating liquid filled her mouth and she read his needs, she grew angry. Nicholas was not here because he desired HER. He was here because of his precious Natalie. She saw the incident clearly in his blood. They had embraced passionately, and the depth of his response to her had caused his beast to emerge from the tight control he leashed on it. He had fled from the object of his affections in terror. Straight to Janette. when you cried i'd wipe away all of your tears when you'd scream i'd fight away all of your fears and i've held your hand through all of these years but you still have all of me Janette’s love for Nicholas had never died. Dimmed at times, but the ember always remained. Her undying love for her bright Crusasder was eternal. She did not understand his quest for mortality, and could not imagine him leaving their centuries of eternal darkness together. But each day he turned away from her more. And it hurt more deeply than she could imagine. you used to captivate me by your resonating light but now i'm bound by the life you left behind your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams your voice it chased away all the sanity in me these wounds won't seem to heal this pain is just too real there's just too much that time cannot erase The pain inside of her was tearing her apart. It was time to leave. She couldn’t remain here feeling like this. She needed to get away, start anew, and try to let her love for Nicholas die. It was the only way. It was time to find a new identity and hope that someday Nicholas would understand. when you cried i'd wipe away all of your tears when you'd scream i'd fight away all of your fears and i've held your hand through all of these years but you still have all of me i've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone and though you're still with me i've been alone all along -My Immortal, composed by Amy Lee of Evanescence.
